We have one worship service at 11:00 AM on Sunday morning.
Our worship service is a time to praise and glorify our great God! This is done through the singing of hymns (traditional & contemporary) and a time of Bible exposition and teaching that typically lasts 35-40 minutes. We first focus on what the Bible teaches and then secondly, how it applies to our lives today. The entire service generally lasts 60-70 minutes.
What to wear is up to each personโs preference. Some dress casually, while others dress up. Our greatest focus is on the preparation of hearts to worship God and receive His Word.
We sing traditional hymns of praise and are beginning to introduce contemporary praise and worship songs.
Yes, this is not a problem at all! Children of all ages are part of the church family and are welcome to be part of our gathering and worship! If preferred, we have a child care room where parents may have their children attend during the worship service.
The Bible version most commonly used at Pacific Heights Baptist Church is the English Standard Version (ESV), which is the translation of choice during our worship service. We find that the English Standard Version provides a sound word-for-word Bible translation.
We believe the Lord's Supper is to be shared among all believers as written in 1 Corinthians 11:17-34. All those who are true believers in God through personal faith in Jesus Christ, His Son, are worthy to partake of the Lordโs Supper by virtue of the fact they have accepted the death of Christ as payment for their sins.
Absolutely! Whatever a personโs past consists of you are welcome. We understand that many of us have traveled down wrong paths in life, but the fact that you are at this website may be the start for getting your life onto the right path. Jesus taught, โI have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentanceโ (Luke 5:32). We are all real people facing real-life struggles and our church is a place you can come to hear truth and find hope in the midst of lifeโs challenges.

Yes, our sermon messages are intended to first explain what the Biblical authors meant and wanted the original audience to understand in ancient times. This is presented in a clear manner using straightforward language. Then, we build a bridge from the ancient world to today and address how and why the timeless words recorded in the Bible remain relevant in our lives in the 21st century.
